Review: Dollyeye Fairy (/EOS WM-205) Brown

Hey there, lovely readers! How've you been? (As you can see, my summer is busier than I thought it would be. @_@)  In any case, here's another long-promised review!  Thanks, as always, to Lens Village for the sponsorship!

(Et comme d'habitude, I prompt you all to check out their blog: it's full of useful lens reviews~. ;] )

Enlargement: 8/10  Ah, yeah. For being 14.8 mm, these lenses really do not enlarge too much. (which I actually prefer.) These look more like they are 14.5 mm, if anything.

Colour/Design: 7.5/10  This series has the popularized 'Sherbet'/'Ruby'/'Big Size' type of design.  That is, a thick ring that has many, long 'spokes' going inward.  The result is that the actual lens colour looks almost like a sunburst.

(flash)

(low light)

Comfort: 10/10  These are one of the many EOS lenses that the 'the Dollyeye' brand OEMs. As you may know, EOS is one of the most comfy brands for me~.

Well. The brown itself is very pretty. Eh-ehm.  Unfortunately, I do not like the design very much: the thick ring and the bunch of 'spokes' going inward reduces the area of the lens that is actually coloured. :/  That is, I really want there to be more coloured area on this lens.  Or at least, a different colour, so that what little there is will really 'pop'.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, and Nine.

Review: (Dueba) OT Star/Otoo Eye/Starlight/Cara Violet (aka. Pink)

Wow. I have had a derp-tastic couple of weeks. You may notice I've switched up the promised review. Yeah. The Komi Look Green review is temporarily incomplete... Because of reasons. :/  (Mostly me being an absent-minded dunce, as usual.)

Anyway, this review is for another pair of lenses sponsored by Kitty Eye Contacts~! (See my store review for them here.)

(That's right: I do go outdoors~. o: )

Enlargement: 8.5/10  As with most of the new lenses from Dueba (and G&G and Vassen), these clock in around 14.5~15.0. They do enlarge rather well~.

Colour/Design: 8/10  All in all, I have very mixed feelings about these lenses.  The design/pattern for this series is amazing-- not only are these 5-tone lenses, but the colours are super-unique.  That is, as you have noticed, the Violet of this series has yellow sections. (Every colour in this series does, too.) <3 And the design looks like some sort of abstractly painted flower. Haha.

The colour itself is odd, in that I think it is generally a fairly subtle violet (noticeable, but not super vibrant). It can look greyish in some lighting, but I would not quite call it 'dark'. Often, though, it appears lighter in pictures/on video. Weird... Oh! And I get a bit of a halo effect, sometimes, that makes the yellow sections really pop.

(flash)

Comfort: 9/10 G&G/Dueba lenses are pretty comfy for me, usually. :]

So yeah. Mixed feelings.. I really like this series' design, but I cannot help but to want a more intense/light violet. (I know, I know-- I always say this. It's because I typically want my lenses as 'dramatic' as possible. The lightest and brightest colours receive my eternal love.)  I haven't decided if I'll be wearing these often or not.  It depends whether I like the design more, or if I dislike the colour more...

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight.

Quick Update + What's Coming Up Next

Hey y'all! :]  Hope your week has been going well so far! I just thought I'd put up this quick post to let you know I've not died.

However, my camera's USB cord has died. Haha.  (Actually, to be specific, one of the pins broke off.)  My new one is due to arrive tomorrow, so I should have a review up, finally, for the Komi Look 4D (Flower Petal) Green (aka. Luxury Babe 15 Green).  Huzzah!

(^ Review on Friday/Saturday! Finally. ^)
-- ---

Then I'll be posting info on the new giveaway on Sunday/Monday.

Additionally, I'll be posting the first of a series of 'Forgotten Reviews' soon.  Basically, they will feature lenses I had a few years ago, before I was using my blog to post lens reviews~.  So you'll see combined reviews for some of my very first lenses! And (really old & embarrassing) pics of me looking young and not knowing how to appear more photogenic. Haha.
.
--  ---

In further news, I may have to start another new series this summer, called Rebuilding my Wardrobe.  Because last week, I somehow managed to get nearly all of my clothing at my university thrown into a dumpster. (And then taken away by a friendly, early-morning garbage truck.)

Awesome. :/ So yeah. I ended up losing about half of my entire wardrobe (a lot of it my professional pieces and my most-worn casual stuff). Ugh.

So I'll be trying to build my wardrobe back up by the coming school year. :D

--  ---

TL;DR-  I should be able to upload + edit pics for new reviews tomorrow, the new giveaway begins Sunday/Monday, I'm starting a new 'series' of posts featuring lenses I owned 2 or 3 years ago, and I have half of my wardrobe to replace by September.

Whew! I've had a relaxing break. 8)  Back to full-time blogging, though! Starting with this post~.

Firstly, I owe all of you who entered this giveaway a lot of thanks. (And thanks to Lens Village, of course, who sponsored the whole thing.  The new site looks stunning.)  As always, I was super-jazzed to see how many entrants there were. :3

Alright- drum roll, if you please~~.  The super-lucky winner of the 2 pairs of circle lenses from Lens Village is.....  Melissa (of  *ω* ophelia danger *o* )!!
Congrats, Melissa!

To all of you lovely folks who didn't luck out this time, keep in mind that there is another giveaway coming soon!  Look out for an update sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Finally, again, thank you so, so much to Lens Village for sponsoring these items and letting me help out with promoting their blog (with some great reviews) and their newly revamped website.

The Giveaway Is Closed!

Just woke up from a 2 1/2 hour nap. o _ e   So groggy.... and I still have to unpack my meager belongings that I took home from school.  (I HAVE A FUN TALE TO TELL TO YOU, SOON.  It explains how I lost about half of my wardrobe. Seriously.)

Anyway, enough of my whinging: the point of this post is to announce that THE GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. :]  Thanks and good luck to all participants~!

By the time this is posted, I will have already randomly drawn the winner-- I'll announce who won on the Monday night (14 May), so stay tuned~! ;P

Review: Komi Look Leopard (XXL) Grey

Final exam week. Is now. Here, have this review, finally! (You may not see me again until the weekend...)   Anyway, remember when I reviewed Kitty Eye Contacts?  Well, this is one of the pairs of lenses they kindly sponsored me! (And I believe they're on sale now-- or rather, that the prices have been dropped~.)  So yeah-- Kitty Eye Contacts, guys: go look. o . o

Enlargement: 9/10 The longer I wear these/the more pictures I see, the larger they look. o.O  (These are 14.5~15 mm, but are more likely 15 mm, like most of Vassen's most recent series~.)

Colour/Design: 8.5/10  Welp. The grey is pretty, but not all too light.  It's visible in daylight and flash, but in most lower lighting, it looks rather dark and the pattern becomes indistinguishable.  Speaking of the pattern, in real life, it's visible when you're about speaking distance from somebody. Otherwise, it isn't all too obvious that you're wearing an animal print on your eye.  These look amazing in macro/close-up shots of the eye, though, IMO~.

(flash)

-  EOS Blytheye/WM-203 Grey vs. Komi Look Leopard Grey -

Comfort: 9.5/10  These lenses are made by Vassen, and my eyes really like that brand. ;]

Overall, I have sort of mixed feelings on these babies: on the one hand, I'd love a lighter grey, but on the other, LEOPARD PRINT. THESE LENSES HAVE LEOPARD PRINT.  So yeah. Love the pattern, but kinda' wish the colour was brighter (which would actually make the pattern even more obvious).  Now I want lenses with, like, tiger stripes. Or maybe zebra~. <3 Haha

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, and Twelve.  (The last 3 are just extra macro shots of the lens~.)

Review: Geo Xtra Sakura Pink (WI-A27)

Ugh. Tired. Next week is finals week, loves! :D ONE MORE WEEK AND I GO HOME. <33  So here's a super-duper late review!  These pretty pink lenses were nicely sponsored by the newly revamped Lens Village!

(And I know I always harp on you to check out their blog, but you really should! It's full of useful lens reviews~. ;] )

Enlargement: 9/10   At 15 mm, these lenses have the largest (actual) DIA available for circle lenses and they definitely enlarge quite a bit.

Colour/Design: 8.5/10   I absolutely love any lens series that has an intriguingly coloured circle.  That is, if a circle lens does not have the usual black ring around it (grey, brown, violet, etc.), I am automatically interested.  <33  Anyway, I had seen a few pics of the Xtra Sakura Pinks, and their outer ring seemed to be a gorgeous red-brown.  In real life, they definitely match all those other folks' reviews. (As for the actual pink colour, it is fairly light, and like many of Geo's pink lenses, it tends to lean towards a more violet hue.)

(flash)

- EOS Dollyeye Pink vs. Geo Xtra Sakura Pink -

Comfort: 9/10  As you may or may not know, Geo lenses are typically not very comfortable for me, but these much comfier than many of the Geo lenses I've owned before. <3

All in all, for a lens I kind of got on a whim, these are pretty fantastic.  They are by no means the brightest or lightest pink lens out there, but they must be among the most interesting, eh?  Their ring sets them apart from the countless other 'Candy'/'Jewel'/'Sakura' design series' pink lenses. So yeah-- I rather like them.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and Six.
